KITESURFING FOR KIDS IN SICILY
Do you want your child to try kitesurfing in safe conditions, under the guidance of experienced instructors?
At KITE HABITS, we run special kitesurfing courses for kids on the Lo Stagnone Lagoon – one of the best learning spots in Europe. Shallow, warm water, steady wind, and an intimate atmosphere create perfect conditions for the little ones.
Kitesurfing courses for kids differ from adult lessons: we use dedicated children’s equipment, shorter time blocks, and a methodology based on play, movement, and positive experiences on the water.
KITESURFING COURSE PACKAGES FOR KIDS
We schedule kids’ courses to maintain high focus and safety, which is why we usually work in shorter sessions (about 1–1.5 hours) with breaks.
INDIVIDUAL PACKAGE

3 HOURS – FIRST EXPERIENCE WITH KITESURFING

- controlling a small kite on the beach,
- first exercises in the water (depending on conditions and readiness)."
We usually divide the lessons into 2–3 shorter sessions.
6 HOURS – STABLE FOUNDATIONS

- more confident kite control,

- preparation for first board launches (for children with suitable weight and confidence in the water).

Depending on the learning pace and conditions, we work on:
- repeated body drags,
- first attempts at board starts,
- short runs in one direction,
- becoming familiar with safety procedures (e.g. age-appropriate self-rescue).

A package for two children of similar age and weight. The kids learn together, motivate each other, and share time with the instructor.

6 HOURS – LEARNING STEP BY STEP

More water exercises, first body drags, and the basics of kite handling. Each child receives individual guidance, even during a shared course.

We focus on:
- more confident kite control,
- more mindful work in the water,
- first attempts at board starts (if conditions and skill level allow).
For group packages, the listed price applies to both participants together.
IN KIDS’ KITESURFING COURSES, WE PAY SPECIAL ATTENTION TO:
- Choosing the right conditions – we teach in calmer winds and avoid gusty forecasts,
- shallow water – we work in areas where the child can stand,
- maximum control over the equipment – small, lightweight kites, short lines, low-lift, high depower (e.g., Flysurfer Hybrid)
- full set of safety gear – helmet, buoyancy vest, wetsuit, appropriate harness,
- contact with parents – we discuss goals, progress, and realistic expectations during the course.
The minimum weight for a child is approximately 30 kg. For lighter children, we can only offer lessons with a small kite on the beach and playful, educational familiarization with kitesurfing – without progressing to a full board course.
